Anna Catherina Boberda (1870-1917), the fourth child of Paul and Eva and was baptised in Parchau (Parchowo, Poland) in 1870. She was known as Annie Josephine Bangat when she married Antonio Francisco in Melbourne, Victoria in 1894.
Antonio Francisco (later Francis) was born in the Azores; although no birth registration or photo of him has been located. The couples three children died young and then in 1913, when Annie was 43 years a son James Gerard arrived; he may have been adopted? Only four years later Annie passed away, followed by Antonio in 1923.
In 1990 Pauline Morris visited Melbourne to see Footscray and search for the Francis family. At the Footscray Cemetery she was unable to locate the grave of Annie. The Francis family eventually "found us" via Colin and Betty Bungard at Waihola. In 2011, I visited the same cemetery with Josie, the daughter of James and we found the Francis plot.
So who were James Gerard's biological parents?
